Wedgewood Estates VIS 1098, located in the 10 Mile Point neighbourhood within the Municipality of Saanich. It resides on 17.5 acres of land. It contains 133 units, of which 71 are apartments and 62 are townhouses. There is a clubhouse, indoor swimming pool, private tennis court and off-site recreational vehicle storage yard.
Wedgewood Estates is an up-scale, gated community occupied primarily by owners. While owners range in age, most owners are 55 years of age and older. Owners have been attracted to Wedgewood Estates due its exclusive location, friendliness of residents, proximity to beaches and shopping, ocean views, and well-maintained green spaces.
The development of Wedgewood Estates was based on a number of principles. The Clubhouse was built with the best view in the complex. Townhouses were developed as a mix of two and three bedrooms with both two level and one level plans, built in clusters of similar architecture and colours. Apartments were developed in four low-rise buildings with a small number of units per floor. All units were designed to be spacious with attractive decks and two parking spots.
Both townhouses and apartments were constructed to maximize ocean views according to the location on the hill and the terrain. A considerable amount of the land was allotted to landscaping and gardens.
